Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Brenda Vallaire Brown, 67, who passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 7 a.m until 10 a.m. on Saturday.

A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Rev. George-Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Desire Valere and Latasha Seastrunk.

Interment will follow at a later date.

Brenda was born on September 24, 1954. She was a faithful parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Being a CNA for many years, she had a passion to serve others and adored working with children. Brenda enjoyed going to the casino, listening to old-school music, and spending time with her beloved family. She will be deeply missed. 

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Willie Brown Jr.; daughters, Lola V. Thomas (John Alfred Thomas Jr.) and Lori Vallaire (Jonathan Simpson); granddaughter, Kaylan Thomas (Dontavius);  brothers, Matthew Valliere (Susie), Kerbert Valliere, Clifford Valliere and Bradley Valliere; sister, JoAnna Valliere; sisters-in-law, Amanda Valliere and Elizabeth Valliere; and a host of nieces, nephews, and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Valliere Sr. and Anna Marie Jean Batiste Vallaire; two brothers, Floyd Valliere and Lloyd Valliere Jr.; great-grandson, Dontavius Jenkins Jr.; and son-in-law, Christopher Batiste.

Pallbearers will be Kerbert Vallere Jr., Steven Vallere, Ryan Vallere, Jamar Vallaire, Jonathan Matthews Jr., Floyd Vallaire Jr. and William Parker Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Valliere, Kerbert Valliere, Clifford Valliere, Bradley Valliere, John Alfred Thomas, Jonathan Simpson and Dontavius Jenkins Sr. 

Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
