Carleen Marie Simon 1954-2023

Carleen Marie Simon ascended into the Heavenly Realm on May 29, 2023. Born in Hawaii on March 13, 1954,Carleen was a lifelong resident of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Renella (Guidry) and Carl M. Simon; her sister, Elizabeth (Simon) Dejean; her maternal grandparents, Bertha (Huval) and Dalton Guidry; her paternal grandparents, Lillian (Bonin) Simon and Michel Simon.

Cherishing her memory are her loving partner in life, Earl Dupuis; her daughter Alexandra Ainsley Yates; her sisters Karen Durio, R. Michel Babineaux and Simone Simon; and her best friends, Mary Ann (Casey) Theriot and Karen (Brantley) Guidry.

Carleen graduated high school from Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and was associated with Tri Delta women’s sorority: “Let us steadfastly love one another.” Carleen eventually graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a  Pharmacy, BS degree, in December 1975. She was a member of  Kappa Epsilon women’s pharmaceutical fraternity. Her career as a registered pharmacist spanned nearly 47 years, which helped serve her family’s business, Simon’s Pharmacy, one of the oldest family-owned businesses in Breaux Bridge.

Carleen was a vibrant, spirited person; a talented dancer and writer.  She was creative artistically and enjoyed a high intellect. She was a “people person.” Once she considered someone a friend, there is nothing she wouldn’t do for that special person in her life. She was a faithful person, in all aspects. She enjoyed all the wonders and pleasures this earthly life had to offer, and simply wanted that for everyone else, too. She never stopped aiming for all the happiness her  life had to offer, not only for herself but for others. She loved, and she was loved. Her  personality was warm and hospitable; she was the ultimate hostess. There is no doubt her place in Heaven is one where she is able to serve others, brightening auras with her fabulous smile.

Carleen Marie Simon’s memory will be honored at a private ceremony. May she be immortalized in a realm of eternal peacefulness forever and ever.

“Most holy Apostle, St. Jude...intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of... that I may receive the consolation and help of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly – and that I may praise God with you and all the Saints forever. Amen.”
