Geraldine Papillion

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Geraldine Papillion, 76, who passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Cecilia on Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Fr. Gregory Cormier officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Geraldine loved cooking, traveling with her family, and going on cruises. She especially loved going to the casino and would get that excited gleam in her eyes when someone mentioned the casino – it’s called the winner’s look and she displayed it very well.
Geraldine admired and loved her family unconditionally, especially her grandchildren. She would sit on the floor and play games with each of them. She wanted them to know and feel the love that should always be given to a child.
She is survived by her son, Paul Papillion Jr. (Robby) of Richmond, Texas; three daughters, Yolanda Zenon (Alton) of Twin Lake, Wisc., Paula Turner (Denzel) of Sugarland, Texas, and Monica Papillion of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Alton Zenon III, Bethany Zenon, Morgan Zenon, Ashley Turner, Shania Steptoe, Trinity Papillion, Chloe Papillion, Chance Picard and Camryn Picard; great-grandchild, Serenity Papillion; two brothers, Lauris Celestine Jr. (Joyce) of Breaux Bridge and Mervin John Celestine (Angela) of Houston, Texas; and four sisters, Mary Nell Celestine, Mary Lou Celestine and, Eula Mae Celestine, all of Houston, Texss, and Marlene Ruffin of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Papillion Sr.; father, Lauris Celestine Sr.; mother, Eula Mae Joseph Celestine; two brothers, Malcolm Celestine and Huval Celestine; and her sister, Juliana Celestine; and her niece, LaSonya Faye Celestine.
Pallbearers were Bethany Zenon, Ashley Turner, Morgan Zenon, Shania Steptoe, Trinity Papillion and Chloe Papillion.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
