Shirley Mayon White

Coteau Holmes – Graveside service were conducted for Shirley Mayon White, 84, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Mrs. White was laid to rest alongside her loving husband and daughter.

A native of  Loreauville and resident of Coteau Holmes, Mrs. White passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at her residence surrounded by loving family.

Shirley was a kind and generous woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. Some of Shirley’s favorite pastimes were going to the casino, dancing, and visiting/talking on the phone with friends; but her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great -grandmother. 

Her life was lived to ensure that her family had everything they needed. As long as they were happy, she was happy. Her greatest love was the time spent with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. It was what made her heart the happiest. 

She will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Adley Dale White (Nancy), Barry White (Joy) and Bert White (Tracy); grandchildren, Scott White, Brandie Bourque (Nick), Kimberly Hinkle (Ken). Eric Hinkle (Brooke), Jeremy White (Ginger) and Dylan White; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Lundberg, Emma Bourque, Gracii Bourque, Kennedy Bourque, Oliver Bourque, Mason White and Reese White.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Adley White Sr.; daughter, Deborah White Hinkle; parents, Ivy and Pearl Kelly Mayon; brothers, Ivy Mayon Jr., Earlis Mayon and Rogers Mayon; sisters, Flavia Henry, Mable Nulisch and Doris Hebert; and infant granddaughter, Holly Ann White.

Pallbearers were Scott White, Jeremy White, Dylan White, Mason White, Eric Hinkle and Jason “Buddy” Smith.

Honorary pallbearer was Reese White.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mrs. White’s dedicated caretakers, Crystal Latiolais, Wendy Cole of NSI Hospice, and Chaplain Paul Broussard with NSI Hospice.
