Yvonne Bordelon Edwards

Yvonne Bordelon Edwards was born on July 31, 1932 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. She was a long-time resident of Mobile, and passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Owen (Jack) Edwards; and daughter, Clare Edwards Moran; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelius Bordelon of St. Martinville, Louisiana.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by daughters, Susan (Sidney) Pearson, Leslie (Jerry) Johns and Jean Fish; sons, Owen (Janice) Edwards and John (Mary Emily) Edwards;, and son-in-law, Bill Moran; as well as 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by one sister, Louise Bordelon Guidry; two brothers, Mike (Monty) Bordelon and Keith (Kathy) Bordelon, all of Louisiana.
Mrs. Edwards was a graduate of Mercy High School in St. Martinville, Louisiana, and SLI in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and an avid tennis player.
She also worked side by side with her husband as the creative consultant for the family business, Port City Rental.
Mrs. Edwards was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church for over 50 years. She had a special devotion to her Catholic faith and was a long-term member of the Tuesday Rosary Group, which brought her great joy.
Due to COVID restrictions, a visitation will not take place at this time. A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.
