Allen Boudreaux Sr.

New Iberia - A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Louisiana Funeral Services and Crematory, 108 Hardware Rd, Broussard, LA 70518, honoring the life of Allen Boudreaux, Sr., 90, who passed away on March 21, 2024 after a short illness. 

He was born in New Iberia, LA on October 1, 1933.

Kenneth J. Chastant

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2024, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Kenneth J. Chastant, 73, who passed away on March 19, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes. 

A visitation tookplace at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A rosary was recited at 12 p.m. on Monday. 

Rev. Bill Melancon officiated at the funeral mass.  Readers were Timmy Daigle and Jamie Stelly Bernard.

Cheryl Blanchard Champagne

Breaux Bridge- A Funeral Service was held at 3 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2024 at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Cheryl Blanchard Champagne, 68, who passed away on March 21, 2024 at her residence in Breaux Bridge.

A visitation took place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m..

A rosary was recited at 11 a.m. on Monday. 

  Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the funeral service. Readers were Katie Belaire and Dustin Domangue.

Patrick J. Champagne

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at St. Rita Catholic Church for Patrick J. Champagne, 79, who passed away on March 22, 2024 at Carpenter House. 

A visitation took place at Dion Hall on Monday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continued on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.

A rosary was recited by Rev. Bill Melancon at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Rev. Bill Melancon officiated at the funeral mass. Readers were Lorries Poirier and Stephanie Champagne. Gift bearers were Avery Champagne and Emily Champagne.

Mike Maraist, a longtime Lafayette-area banker, businessman and owner of Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club in Broussard, has died.

The longtime businessman whose $2.5 million donation to the Moody College of Business at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette provided for the Maraist Financial Services Lab had a history that spanned decades in the Lafayette region.
