Lonnie and Lisa Bernard of St. Martinville and Michael and Cynthia Melancon of Breaux Bridge announce the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their children, Amber Mary Bernard to Ryan Andrew Melancon. The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, December 10, 2011, during a 7 p.m. ceremony at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Edward and Melba Bourque Thibodeaux and the late Percy and Cecile Henry Bernard. She is a graduate of St. Martinville Sr. High and Louisiana Technical College. She is employed as a LPN at Women’s Multi-Specialty Group in Lafayette. The groom-elect is the grandson of Lydia Theriot Guidry of Cecilia and the late Andrew Guidry and the late Otis Melancon and Vinet Thibodeaux Melancon Patin. He is a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School and Louisiana Technical College and is attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in professional land and resource management. He is employed by C.L. Jack Stelly and Associates in Lafayette.
