St. Martinville – Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Pearl Anne Prade, 87, who passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011, at her residence.

Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.

Rev. Justin Arockiasamy conducted the services. Reader was Shelley Robertson. Gift Bearers were Dora Robertson, Ismay Savoy, Craig and Coby LeBlanc.

Pearl was devoted to her snowball business and the children. She was known as the “Snowball Lady” with a beautiful smile. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating, and had a great compassion for people. She was a faithful member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She made all her Christmas decorations.

Survivors include her nephew and raised as a son and operated Babe’s snowball stand for over 40 years, Edward “Baby” Robertson of St. Martinville; her loving niece and raised as her daughter, Sharlene Horton and her husband James Horton of St. Martinville; numerous nieces and nephews of whom they consider her like a mother; and a family member who she raised, Gregory LeBlanc of St. Martinville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Caldwell and Teresa St. Julien Prade; her brothers, Howard, William and Caldwell Prade Jr.; and her sisters, Edna Robertson, Iola Robertson, Doris Broussard and Ismay Fields.

A rosary was recited at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

Pallbearers were Gregory LeBlanc, Jim Horton, Collins Robertson, Travis Robertson, Ramon Robertson and Howard Prade Jr.

Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
