Mark and Louise Sargent of New Iberia announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Katelyn Marie Sargent, to Jonah Christopher Begnaud on Friday, December 16, 2011, during a 7 p.m. ceremony at Our Savior’s Church in Broussard. The groom-elect is the son of Thomas Begnaud of Cecilia and the late Paula Begnaud. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mercedes Landry. She is a graduate of Catholic High School and is attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in nursing. The groom-elect is a graduate of Cecilia High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a B.A. in business management. He is co-owner of Moss Machine Shop.
