Breaux Bridge gets the jump on things when the Tigers travel to New Iberia to scrimmage against the Class 5A Yellow Jackets next Thursday, Aug. 16.
Cecilia and St. Martinville have scheduled scrimmages for Friday, Aug. 17. Coach Terry Martin’s Bulldogs head to Erath while the Tigers under coach Gary Adkins visit Loreauville.
Kiwanis Jamboree
Fans are reminded that all three parish teams will be featured in the big 61st annual Lafayette Kiwanis Jamboree set for ULL’s Cajun Field on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 23 and 24.
The lineup is as follows:
Thursday, Aug. 23:
•Game 1 (6 p.m.) - Acadiana vs. Teurlings Catholic.
•Game 2 - Breaux Bridge vs. Carencro.
•Game 3 - Lafayette High vs. St. Thomas More.
Friday, Aug. 24:
•Game 1 (6 p.m.) - Northside vs. Notre Dame/Crowley.
•Game 2 - Cecilia vs. Comeaux.
•Game 3 - St. Martinville vs. Jennings.
Advance tickets will be available from football players and at the local schools.
