Breaux Bridge – St. Bernard School will kick off the new school year with a number of activities, starting with its Family Picnic Saturday, Aug. 4. The picnic begins at 9 a.m. with Mass in the school’s gym.

The Pre-K Preview, for all students entering the Pre-Kindergarten program, will be Tuesday, Aug. 7, 6-7 p.m.

Both of these fun events are designed to help calm first-day and back-to-school jitters by allowing the students back on campus with parents to meet or reunite with fellow classmates and teachers in a relaxed atmosphere.

The new school year gets into full swing on Thursday, Aug. 9. All enrolled students, Pre-K through 8th grade, should report to campus by 8 a.m. The day begins with Mass at 8:20 a.m. in St. Bernard Church. Dismissal for all grades will be at 3 p.m.

Bus service begins Aug. 13.

Parents are reminded that all supply fees are due the first day of school, Aug. 9. Also that school pictures will be taken the second day of school, Aug. 10, and students must adhere to the dress code.

Summer Reading tests and projects are due by Friday, Aug. 10, for students entering grades 4th through 8th.

“Back to School Night” for all grade levels will be Thursday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. Parents should report to the gym for an opening assembly.
