PRAIRIEVILLE -- Services will be Thursday for former NFL player Daniel Brabham. He died Jan, 23 at age 69.
Brabham was an all-Southwest Conference fullback at the University of Arkansas and first-round draft pick by the Houston Oilers, later traded to Cincinatti.
Survivors include his wife, Tricou, two sons and a daughter.
Music figure
ABBEVILLE -- Theater and music business figure Ted Cessac died at age 65.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was the road manager for the legendary blues singer Big Mama Thornton and was with her when Janis Joplin first sang Big Mama’s “Ball and Chain”.
On the road he met and drank with most of the old bluesmakers like Mississippi Fred McDowell, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker and countless others. Ted was a key player in the Cellar Theatre in Hollywood and one of the original founders of The Abbey Players with his wife Lynette Winter.
Survivors include two sons.
