St. Martinville – Loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Ethel Lee Pellerin Lasseigne, 70, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Iberia Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church.

Msgr. J. Douglas Courville officiated at the funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Dustin Daigle and Kirsten Mestayer. Gift Bearers were her granddaughters.

Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.

Ethel was an active Pokeno and Bingo player and also enjoyed outings to the local casinos. She loved life and loved her family unconditionally and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Survivors include her husband, Ulysses Lasseigne Sr. of St. Martinville; two sons, Orsen Daigle Jr. and wife Gina, and Richard Daigle and wife Rhonda; one daughter, Bonita Mestayer and husband Chris; a step son, Ulysses “Joey” Lasseigne Jr. and companion Jenny; three step daughters, Alicia L. Poirier and husband Mickey, Alyson Evans and husband Glenn, and Amelia Horn and husband Luke; three brothers, Richard Pellerin, Jerry Pellerin and Carrol Pellerin; one sister, Ione Pellerin Horne; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Abel and Laura Castille Pellerin; two sisters, Rosemary Pellerin and Gloria Pellerin Berard; and three brothers, Lester, Gordon and Herman Pellerin.

A rosary wase recited at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Pallbearers were Orsen Daigle Jr., Richard Daigle, Joey Lasseigne, Chris Mestayer, Logan Daigle, Dustin Daigle, Glenn Evans and Bobby Daigle.

Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Daigle, Luke Horn Sr., Mickey Poirier, Joshua Melancon and Chuck Berard.

Special thanks from Orsen, Richard and Bonita, to our step dad, Ulysses Lasseigne Sr., for being a great husband and dad.

Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
