Arnaudville – Funeral services were held on Friday, June 8, 2012, at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Ludovic Joseph Fruge, 81, who passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Evangeline Oaks Guest House in Carencro.

Interment was in St. Francis Regis Cemetery.

The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, officiated at the services.

Mr. Fruge was a native of Arnaudville and lived most of his life in Cecilia. He had been a resident of Carencro for the past four years. He was employed with T.L. James Riverboats and was most recently employed with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Department.

Mr. Fruge was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church in Carencro. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Lalonde Fruge of Carencro; two sons, Jimmy Fruge and Jason Fruge and wife Carolyn, all of Cecilia; one daughter, Linda Doré and husband Clayton of St. Martinville; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Moore and husband David of Diamondhead, Miss., and Linda Thibodeaux and husband Ricky of Carencro; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three brothers, George Fruge, Milton Fruge and wife Marleney, all of Leonville, and Pete Fruge and wife Doris of Carencro.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Pitt Knott Fruge; his parents, Christopher Fruge and the former Ida Lalonde; and one brother, Leroy Fruge.

A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers were be Jason Fruge Jr., Jamie Fruge, Caleb Doré, Casey Doré, Jordan Thibodeaux and Joshua Moore. Honorary pallbearers were Lincoln Fruge and Chandler Doré.
