According to Parish President Guy Cormier, the boil water advisory is triggered by Department of Health and Hospitals guidelines for the system's water pressure.
The pressure is down due, authorities believe, a big demand created by people watering their lawns at about the same time each day.
Rain on Tuesday and in the forecast this week will help recharge the system, Cormier said.
Until further notice, however, boil what you consume and don't water your grass.
