Sheriff Ronny Theriot served as keynote speaker, extolling the progress that continues to characterize St. Martinville and St. Martin Parish and praising the spirit of cooperation that exists between the cities and the elected officials throughout the parish.
Parish President Guy Cormier updated the gathering on efforts to protect homes and businesses against flooding in Lower St. Martin Parish.
Also honored with nominations by the Chamber were DeBlanc “Dub” Beslin, Bay-Lan Advertising Specialties, as Business Leader; Louisiana Sugar Cane Cooperative as Business of the Year; Woodmen of the World for Civic Organization; and Dr. Daniel Wiltz, local physician and parish coroner, as Humanitarian of the Year.
Officers and directors installed were: president, Craig Prosper; vice president, Byron Blanchard; member at large, Dana Theriot; secretary, Patsy Poirier; treasurer, Lorrie Poirier; and directors Michelle Broussard, Brian Friend and Neil Trahan.
