Interment will follow in Richardson Cemetery in Jena, Louisiana at 4 p.m.
Service Officiates will be Reverend Morgan Allen and Reverend Annie Bates, Pastors of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Lafayette.
Marjorie was born April 20, 1918. She was a native of Morgan City, Louisiana and was a long-time resident of Crowley for 40 years before moving to Lafayette. Marjorie retired as Administrator with the State of La. in Child Services. She was very active in both Trinity Episcopal Church in Crowley and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Lafayette. She especially loved spending time with her friends for the past ten years in the Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group at St. Barnabas.
Marjorie will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marjorie is survived by her beloved son and daughter, William “Bill” Richardson and his wife Dolores of Lafayette, La., and Gayle R. Gahn and her husband Charles, of Bisbee, Arizona; her sister Frances Vaughan of Lenox, Massachusetts; her brother William F. Vaughan of Lake Charles, Louisiana; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Auldon E. Richardson and her parents Frank T. Vaughan of Morgan City, Louisiana and the former Lucie Lynch, of Patterson, Louisiana.
The family requests that visiting hours at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church be observed from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
Pallbearers will be Marjorie’s family and friends.
