James Harris, Jr.

(November 25, 1942 - March 29, 2009)



Abbeville – Funeral Services for Mr. James Harris, Jr., 66, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at First Apostolic Church with Rev. Joseph J. Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Saturday, April 4, 2009 beginning at 9:00AM until the time of Services. Interment will follow at Mt. Triumph Cemetery .

Mr. Harris, a native and resident of Abbeville, passed away at 10:16AM on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at a local New Iberia hospital. Mr. Harris worked as a Corp of Engineer in the Oilfield. He was a loving husband, father,and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Fusilier Harris of Abbeville; one daughter, Amanda Harris of Port Arthur, Texas; two brothers, Roy Harris and his wife Ethel of Abbeville, and Floyd Harris of Abbeville; two sisters, Adell Nolan and Merlene LeBlanc and husband Randy both of Abbeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mariah Mathews Harris, Sr.; a brother, Lloyd Harris; and three sisters, Earline Harris, Alberta Harris, and Mary Mitchell.

Brock Wade Huval

August 24, 1981 ~ April 1, 2009

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2009 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Brock Wade Huval, 27, who died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.

Brock will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Brock’s faith was strong and unwavering. In his spare time he loved to draw. Brock was a former employee of the Vermilion Parish Clerk of Court Office. The family would like to thank the community for all their loving prayers and support.

He is survived by his mother, Annette Meaux Duhon and step father, Darren J. Duhon; father, Ricky Huval; two brothers, Jacob “J.D.” Duhon and Ross Duhon; maternal grandmother, Deloris Meaux; paternal grandparents, Daniel Wade and Elda Huval; and step grandparents, Autrey and Brenda Duhon.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jeffery J. Meaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, April 3, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

Lillie Mae Simon

March 13, 1924 ~ April 2, 2009

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Lillie Mae Simon, 85, who died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at her residence in Abbeville .

She will be laid to rest at Leroy Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Arvin Alleman, Scott Landry, Jeremy Ledet, Andy Landry, Shawn Landry and Trey Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jadon Smith, Stanley Smith, Preston Verret and Jason Campbell.

She was a member of the St. Theresa Ladies Alter Society, the Benevolent Committee, active in St.Theresa Church, often doing her hour of adoration until her illness.

She is survived by her children, Lennie Alleman and husband Arvin of Patterson, Allen “Bubba” Landry and wife Mona of Abbeville and Jessie Landry and wife Annette of Maurice ;step daughter, Janell LeMaire; grandchildren, Stephanie Verret, Ginger Campbell, Jeremy Ledet, Scott Landry, Amy Smith, Andy Landry and Shawn Landry; step grandchildren, Macey and Seth Hebert; great grandchildren Brandon and Dylan Verret, Madeline and Connor Campbell, Reese Ledet, Trey Landry, Delaine Landry, Jadon Smith, Jax Smith, Jordan Landry, Alaina Landry, and Shawn and Spencer Landry; great-great grandchild, Claire Landry; and a sister, Della Boudreaux and husband Ronnie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Simon; parents, Noah Simon and Eliza Simon Hebert; and two brothers, Rufus and Elsie Simon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Maxie Boudoin

Abbeville-Funeral services will be held for Mr. Maxie “Sap” Boudoin, Sr. 84 at 1:00pm Saturday, April 4, 2009 at C. M. Butler Funeral Home-218 N. St. Valerie Street with Rev. Joseph Boudoin officiating.

He will be awaiting the resurrection in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. Visiting hours will be observed at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:00am until time of service.

A resident of Abbeville, LA, he fell asleep at 6:48pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Abbeville General Hospital.

As a young man he served in the United States Navy which resulted in an honorable discharge. Later, he was employed with Baroid for forty plus years until he retired. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, four sons: Maxie Boudoin, Jr.(Denise), Thaddeus Boudoin, Joseph Boudoin, Sr.(Sandy) and Maxie Mitchell all of Abbeville; two daughters, Brenda Boudoin and Gladys Cooper both of Abbeville.

He also reared four grandchildren, Gregory Mitchell, Earetha Bernard(Roland), Earline Arceneaux(Peter) and Barbara Boudoin. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren, fifty-six great-granchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnore Cooper Boudoin; his parents, Joseph Boudoin and Dora Ardoin Boudoin; three brothers, Mabry Baudoin, Phillip Boudoin, Sr., and Roy Wright; two sisters, Viola Hebert and Mary Huntsberry; three daughters, Mercedes Brookshire, Bernice Williams and Rosa Mae Calliet and one son, Gregory Baudoin. C. M. Butler Funeral Home(337-898-9595) of Abbeville is in charge of the arrangements.
