STEPHENSVILLE – Early voting for the Saturday, May 2, general election will be held at the St. Martin Parish Water District No. 1 building through Saturday, April 25, excluding Sunday, Registrar Sue C. Thibodeaux announced.

Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Two precincts in lower St. Martin Parish, 1-2 in Belle River and 1-5 in Stephensville, have a tax renewal on the ballot – 5 mills for 10 years for the water and sewer system.

Early voting in the upper part of the parish was suspended after state Sen. Joe McPherson dropped out of the race for the District 4 seat on the state Public Service Commission, making former Congressman Clyde C. Holloway the winner.
