Breaux Bridge - Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Laura Mae Celestine, 77, who passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

Interment followed at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.

Fr. James P. Fallon conducted the services.

Readers were Dominque Johnson and Betty John.

Ms. Celestine loved helping others, and it showed in all the volunteer work she did.

She also attended Mass daily.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Batiste and his companion Michelle; her daughter, Bernadine B. Noel and her husband Joseph, all of Cecilia; her brother, Clarence Celestine and his wife Dolores of Erath; her sister, Clara Demouchet of Breaux Bridge; her grandchildren, Effy Noel, Joshua Noel, Rian Batiste and Rhoda Batiste; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Martha John Celestine.

Pallbearers were Clarence Celestine, Corey Livings, Christopher Livings, Wilbert Demouchet, Michael John and Demetrius Noel.

Pellerin Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
