Breaux Bridge – Today, Aug. 18, 5:30-7 p.m., Business After Hours sponsored by the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosted by Francine Guillory, Phyahotherapist/Wellness Counseling and Sue Dupont, realtor, Coldwell Banker, at 1038 Martha Hebert Road. Join us for refreshments and great networking. From Breaux Bridge, go down Grand Point Highway to the traffic light in Henderson, take a right at light, take next right which is Martha Hebert Road. The house is the third on the right, a two-story white house with green trim. Park in driveway and on side of road.

On Thursday, Aug. 19, there will be a grand opening at 11 a.m. for Buck & Johnny’s Pizzeria at the corner of Bridge and Berard streets in Breaux Bridge. Join us for great food and more networking.

Elections are creeping up on us. Join the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Sept. 2, at Breaux Bridge City Hall, 6 p.m., for a political forum featuring candidates running for the St. Martin School Board. Governmental Committee Chairman Donald Thibodeaux and Co-Chair Griffin Huval will be in charge of the forum. The audience will have an opportunity to submit questions.

Then on Wednesday, Sept. 8, there will be a political forum for the candidates running for chief of police and City Council Districts B and C. This will also be at Breaux Bridge City Hall starting at 6 p.m.

Get a cooking team together and join us on Saturday, Sept. 18, for our first annual Jamabalaya Cookoff sponsored by the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce. Broussard – The Broussard Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon today, Aug 18, features as guest speaker Leo Honeycutt, author of “Governor Edwin W. Edwards, an authorized biography of Edwards and his days as Louisiana’s governor.

The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at The Madison Banquet and Reception Centre, 406 E. Madison Street. Building B.

The event is catered by Poor Boy’s Riverside Inn.

The cost is $15 per person payable by cash or check to The Madison.

We will have a table set-up for businesses to place their business cards, brochures, etc.
