Elizabeth ‘Gayle’ Latiolais Gideon

Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Elizabeth “Gayle” Latiolais Gideon, 82, who passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday.

Deacon Ken Soignier officiated at the Funeral Service. The reader was Kyle Gideon.

Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Elizabeth Gayle Latiolais Gideon was born March 15, 1939, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She grew up on a farm in the community of Nina in rural St. Martin Parish, surrounded by the homes of family members. She met the love of her life, Rees Joseph Gideon, while in Seventh Grade, and they later married and remained a couple until his death in 1993.

Gayle, as she was known to her high school classmates, was a proud member of the Breaux Bridge High School Class of 1957. While Liz lived the entirety of her adult life in Lafayette, her heart was always in Breaux Bridge.

She is survived by her two sons, Kyle Gideon (Monique) and Guy Gideon (John Vice); daughter, Dawn Gideon Picard (William); grandchildren, Mason Picard, Maya Picard Joubert (Conner) and Rees Gideon; and her sister, Lois Latiolais.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rees Joseph Gideon; and her parents, Liney and Grace Roberts Latiolais.

Pallbearers were Mason Picard, Rees Gideon, Conner Joubert, Kyle Gideon, Harold Wyatt and Kent Roberts. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
