St. Martinville – Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Freddie James Babers Sr. Freddie was 84 years old and departed this world on November 17, 2022, in the comfort of his home.
He is survived by his children, Freddie Babers Jr. (Crystal) of Broussard, La., Kimberly Babers of St. Martinville, La., Craig Babers Sr. of St. Martinville, La., Jeanne Babers-Belson (Brennon) of Atlanta, Ga., Fredrek Babers (Roanna) of St. Martinville, La., and honorary son, Kelton “Blackjack” Marshall (Billie Jane) of St. Martinville; and two sisters, Ellen White and Janie Lynch of Houston, Texas.
He also leaves to mourn, the apples of his eyes, his grandkids and great-grandkids, a host of nieces, nephews, as well as in-laws and friends alike.
He was a member of the Golden Keys Social and Civic Club for years and the local Masonic Lodge.
Freddie was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Babers, sons Kyle Sr and Myles Babers, and daughter Fredreka Babers-Wiltz.
The Golden Meadows Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
