Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, for Elliot J. Bienvenu, 79, who passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at his residence.
A visitation took place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Father Garrett McIntyre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Elliot dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving various banks including First National, Guarantee Bank, and Morgan City Bank. His exceptional leadership qualities helped him establish his name and his Vice President title in the banking industry.
Not only did Elliot serve his country with distinction as an honorable Air Force veteran, but he continued supporting members of America’s military veterans as a member of the VFW.
Elliot loved spending time with family and friends. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling. Additionally, he enjoyed hunting, reading, and watching Netflix during his downtime. Elliot was also an avid fan of LSU sports. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to many, who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ramona Barras Bienvenu; son, Blane J. Bienvenu; twin brother, Ellis Bienvenu (Peggy); sister, Wannie Pittman (Bill); and granddaughter, Lauren Renee Bienvenu.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Bienvenu and Anna Belle Maraist Bienvenu; and his daughter-in-law, Rhonda Renee Bienvenu.
