Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m., on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Joyce LeBlanc Bertrand, 89, who passed away on July 12, 2024 at her residence.

Visitation took place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A rosary was prayed at 1 p.m. on Monday.  

Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the funeral service. Readers were Brittany Bouley and Gina Andrus.

Burial  followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.  

Joyce was born on August 2, 1934 in Breaux Bridge. She dedicated her life to her family, retiring at the age of 81 after a fulfilling career. She was a woman of faith, a devoted Catholic who attended services at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Joyce will be remembered for her kind heart, devotion to her family, and love for shopping. Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.

She is survived by her son, Jody Bertrand (Leslie “Tootie”); brother, Terry LeBlanc (Betty); sister in law, Lucille LeBlanc; daughter-in-law, Audrey Rivet (Carey); grandchildren, Coby Bertrand, Cody Bertrand (Brittany), Beau Bertrand, Colby Rivet (Heather), Caitlyn Duplantis and Cary Rivet; great grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Cori, Allison, Camryn, Alayna, Piper, Jaxson, and Karter; and great-great grandchildren, Aubree, Claire, AnnaLee, Gracyn, Leyton, James, and Ava. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Eunice Castille LeBlanc; husband, Frank “Joe” Bertrand, Jr.; son, Rayln Bertrand; siblings, Aubrey LeBlanc, Lucille Dupuis and Lillie Nell LeBlanc. 

Pallbearers were Terry “Squirt” LeBlanc Jr., Coby Bertrand, Cody Bertrand, Beau Bertrand, David Lester, and Bo Lester.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amber and Kylie with Elara Caring and Allison, Pat, Jennifer, Danielle, Dr. Marelle Yongue, Steve, Jerry and Carolyn with Hospice of Acadiana for providing excellent care during Joyce’s time in need.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana.
