Linda Anne Talley

Austin, Texas – Linda Anne Talley peacefully passed away and was called home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2024 at Christopher House in Austin, Tx. She was a member of the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana. With her warrior spirit and steadfast strength she fought a decades long battle with MS and other illnesses and is now pain free. She was born and raised in St. Martinville, La. and graduated high school there.

Linda lived in New Iberia for a little more than a decade, then moved to Austin, Tx in the early 80’s. Then to Ft. Worth in 1986 where she resided until May of 2022 when she moved with her daughter Elizabeth and family to be cared for. 

Her first love was Jesus and then her family. She loved fiercely, with her whole heart, unconditionally. She had the most beautiful sparkle and light that will always be remembered.                                               She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her brother, Ernie J Talley of St. Martinville (Stella Bienvenue). Her brother-in-law, Peter Savoie Sr. of New Iberia. Her daughters, Elizabeth Coats of Austin, Tx. (Aaron Burleson). Xan S Callais of Duson, La. (Donnie Etie). Her sons, Mance Savoie of New Iberia, La. (Michelle Savoie). Brent Savoie of Ft. Worth, Tx. Her seven grandchildren, Madeline Coats, Katie Burleson, Brianne Savoie, (Webb Smith) Erin Savoie, Christopher Savoie, Genique Bourque (Trent Bourque), Trent Savoie (Doris Savoie). Her seven great grandchildren, Leighla & Cassius Smith, Isabella Bourque, Titan, Dante, Jaspen and Talia Savoie.  Niece, Dina Savoie of New Iberia, La. (Tommy Viator). Nephew, Ernie Talley Jr. of Parks, La.. Nephew, Peter Savoie Jr. of New Iberia, La. Nephew Dwight Dautreuil of New Iberia, La. (Norma Dautreuil) Niece, Melanie Guidry of Breaux Bridge, La. (Jeffrey Guidry), Niece, Darlene Bergeron of New Iberia, La. (Brandon) Nephew, Brian Dautreuil of St. Martinville, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Elda Mora Talley. Her foster mother, Mae Judice Haines. Sisters, Laura T. Savoie and Elda Dautreuil, brother in law, Dwight Dautreuil, brothers, Albert Richard Talley and Thomas Richard Talley. 

A special note of gratitude to Dr. Wu and the team of nurses, chaplain Lamar Claypool and social workers at the Christopher House for the exceptional care provided to her by Hospice Austin.

Christian services will be held on July 20, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Little Pass Baptist Church                        2857 Chitimacha Trail Charenton, La. 70523.                                                                                           Interment will follow at the Chitimacha Mausoleum.                                                                                   Dr. Chris Holloway, Senior Pastor will officiate the services.
