St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Olan Joseph Etienne, 81, who passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Camelot of Broussard.
A visitation took place at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 8 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
Father Abelardo Gabriel S.V.D officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Olan was born on December 12, 1942, in Lafayette. Olan had a passion for the great outdoors. His hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, and trail riding. He found solace in nature and shared his appreciation for the wilderness with those around him. Olan’s adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors will be fondly remembered by all who enjoyed these activities with him.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Carrier; brother, Warren Etienne; grandchild, Courtney Carrier; and his great-grandchildren, Kayzlon Andrus and Kaydon Carrier.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Gracie Colbert Etienne.
Pallbearers were Kerry Etienne and Elridge Etienne.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
