Despite the threat of rain the 2024 Atchafalaya Basin Festival was held on Saturday, Nov. 9 in the Henry Guidry Memorial Park and was well attended.
The annual festival and cookoff is held as a fundrasier for Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
This year's winners:
•Grand Champion – Granny's Kitchen – Pat and Deanna Clay.
•Fish Courtbouillion – 1st place, Boudreaux's Old Time Cajun Seasoning – Robert and Micki Boudreaux; and 2nd, Dupuis Heating & A/C – David Dupuis Sr.
•Chicken & Sausage Gumbo – 1st place, The Butte Treehouse – Jerry and Eva Champagne; and 2nd, Team Chad Boyer – Adam Boyer & Justin Hollier.
•Seafood Gumbo – 1st place, Granny's – Pat and Deanna Clay; and 2nd, Team Troy – Kim Robin.
•Side Dish – 1st place, Dupuis Air Conditioning – Dolores Dupuis and 2nd, Hayes Painting, LLC.
•Raffle Winners – 1st place, Camo Golf Cart – Dale and Jackie Boudreaux; 2nd, $500 Hebert's of Henderson gift card – Susan Morrogh; and 3rd, Wooden Rocker – Robert and Kim Minyard.
