Jonathan Michael Tristan

Lafayette – Funeral services were held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Our Savior’s Church in Broussard, for Jonathan Michael Tristan, age 42, who passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Our Savior’s Church in Broussard, 655 Hwy. 96, Broussard, LA 70518, on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of services.

Pastor Marty DeRoussel officiated at the services.

Cherishing the memory of Jonathan include his wife, Erin Courtney Strahan Tristan; his daughters, Peyton, Skylar, and Taylor; his father, Eduardo Tristan; his mother, Diana Alvarez Houston; his siblings, Eduardo Tristan, Jr., and Karissa Tristan and her wife, Tamika; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Hunt and her husband, Roger; his father-in-law, Gerald Strahan and his wife, Felicia; his brother-in-law, Chase Strahan; and many relatives and friends.

Jon was a native of Dallas, TX, and a proud resident of Austin, TX. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished son who touched the lives of everyone he met.

Jon graduated from Columbia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. His love for technology extended beyond his education and became a lifelong passion. Whether it was playing video games, exploring the latest tech gadgets, or sharing his knowledge, technology was a source of joy in his life.

He was an avid sports fan, always cheering for the Mavericks, Cowboys, and Rangers. When he wasn’t watching a game, he could be found playing soccer with his daughters, enjoying pickleball, or coaching youth sports. His dedication to the community was evident through his roles as vice president of the HOA, treasurer of the high school soccer booster club, and his commitment to fostering a love for sports among young athletes.

Known as “Mr. Community,” Jon made friends wherever he went. His infectious smile, sense of humor, and kindhearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a man of faith, deeply devoted to his Christian beliefs, and found joy in attending Sunday services with his family. Jon’s nightly prayers at dinner and bedtime were a testament to his unwavering commitment to his faith and family.

Jon’s legacy will be remembered by all who knew him: a man who always brought laughter, shared his smile freely, and treated everyone as a friend. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his generosity, warmth, and boundless love for those around him.

  Pallbearers were Adam Mueller, Blake Landry, Dustin Padgett, Corey Capritto, Chase Strahan, and Zachary Hunt.
