St. Martinville – Beta Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi celebrated their annual Hands and Hearts social on Feb. 10 at La Espuela Restaurant.
President Lynnie Bienvenu, chair of the event conducted the business meeting and called on committee chair to report the ongoing activities.
Adopted Family chair Shirley Fuselier announced the chapter continues to support a local family monthly.
Program chair Bobbie Theriot announced Parish President Pete Delcambre will be the guest speaker on Feb. 24. Delcambre will present a program on How Well Do You Know Your Parish? as he explains to members his vision for the parish.
Louella Champagne was the recipient of the floating basket gift presented by Shirley Fuselier.
Members presented a program on Chocolate and discussed the various types of chocolate, how much the average person consumes in a year, the most hated chocolate candy bar in America, and the candy bar with the least amount of sugar.
Members learned about the healthiest chocolate, the oldest created candy bar as well as the three top candy distributors in the United States.
At the conclusion of the program Chair Theriot presented members with cocoa and marshmallows as well as milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate from the top three distributors.
Members in attendance were President Lynnie Bienvenu, Arleen Oubre, Shirley Fuselier, Louella Champagne and Bobbie Theriot.
