The Rotary Club of St. Martinville will stage its 77th Mardi Gras Ball on Saturday, March 1, at the Cade Community Center.
The theme of this year’s ball will be Jewels of the Night.
Tickets and tables will be on sale for the public starting February 18 and continue through February 28 at the B1 Bank Branch in St. Martinville or you may purchase tickets by calling Michelle Broussard at 337-523-2472.
This year’s court royalty includes:
Captain of the Ball Christopher C. Durand is a native of St. Martinville and is the son of Steven and Charlotte Durand and is the sonin- law of Rotarian Linda and Jerry Courville.
He attended UL Lafayette and worked in the environmental field and eventually founded his own company.
He and his wife Tonya have been married for 26 years and they have two children, Luke and Ellie.
Queen Mother Mary Desormeaux is a business development officer at Community First Bank. She has served in several leadership roles in her community, including President of the St. Martinville Chamber of Commerce. She holds board member positions at The Acadian Memorial and Maris Stella Classical Academy, serves on the So-LAcc Evangeline Campus Advisory Board and is a member of the St. Martinville Rotary Club.
She and her husband Kim have been married for 45 years and they have two children, Jason and Jamie, and two grandchildren, Hannah Grace and Luke Anthony Bernard.
Queen of the Mardi Gras Linda Frugé Doré is the daughter of the late LuDovic Frugé and the late Shirley Knott Frugé.
Linda recently retired from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.
She is married to Clayton James Doré and they have three sons, Caleb, Case, and Chandler, as well as four grandchildren, Arabella, Asher, Addison, and Emberly.
Princess Royal Whitney Durand Thibodeaux, is the daughter of Chip and Lucy Durand. She is a graduate of Catholic High School of New Iberia.
Whitney is married to Skyler Thibodeaux.
