The St. Martin Parish Magnet Academies will host its inaugural Magnet Academies Showcase, providing families, community members, and prospective students with an interactive experience highlighting the district’s innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore student art and STEM exhibits, enjoy fine arts performances, meet teachers and program leaders, learn about the unique educational opportunities and after-school STEAM clubs available through the magnet schools, attend tours, and apply on the spot!
The event will be held Saturday, February 22 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the St. Martin Parish Community Performing Arts Center St. Martin Early STEAM Academy, 1120 Martin Luther King Drive, St. Martinville This event is open to the public and ideal for families interested in enrolling their children in the St. Martin Parish Magnet Academies’ two STEAM magnet schools. School administrators, faculty, current magnet students, and community partners will be present. The Magnet Academies Showcase offers a firsthand look at the engaging, project-based learning experiences that set the magnet academies apart. From robotics and engineering to visual media and performing arts, the showcase will demonstrate how students in grades Pre-K through 5 are developing critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills through a unique, STEAM-integrated curriculum designed to prepare them for the future.
