We hear it at this time every year, “What are you giving up for Lent?” It’s an honorable task to take on and follow through this Season of Penance. Those who honor and observe it are to be commended. Most of us “give up” something we find difficult to part with for the entine season of Lent. We do our best to observe it and not fail in our Penance.
In view of that, may I offer a challenge. May we make a special effort to do more for our Faith, such as attend Holy Mass regularly on Sundays and, if possible, attend Mass during the weekdays also. We need prayers also for the sick, the homebound, the destitute, the deceased, the ill and suffering and so many more. I, for one, will try my best.
