DOTD announces $8.6m state-funded project for La. 31 in St. Martin Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Monday, March 17, construction will begin on a project along La. 31 from La. 182 (East St. Peter St.) in Iberia Parish to .9 miles south of La. 92-1 (Smede Hwy in St. Martin Parish.

Funded completely with state funds, this $8.4 million project will include milling asphalt pavement, pavement patching, asphalt concrete overlay, guardrail, striping, and related work.

Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Alternating lane closures are expected.

The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot wide maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone. Emergency vehicles will have access to this area but may encounter delays.

The project is estimated for completion by April 2026.
