Early voting for the March 29 Municipal Primary election is March 15 - 22 (excluding Sunday, March 16) from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Early voting locations include the St. Martin Registrar of Voters Office, St. Martin Courthouse Annex, 415 St. Martin St., St. Martinville, the Sydnie Mae Durand Senior Citizen Center, 391 Cannery Rd., Breaux Bridge and the Stephensville Fire Station, 1227 Stephensville Rd., Morgan City.
The ballot will include four Constituional Amendments.
Amendment No. 1
Do you support an amendment granting the La. Supreme Court jurisdiction to discipline out-of-state lawyers for unethical legal practices in the state of Louisiana, and to grant the legislature the authority to establish trial courts of limited and specialized jurisdiction?
(Amends Article V, Sections 5(B), 15(A) and 16(A)) Amendment No. 2
Do you support an amendment to revise Article VII of the Constitution of Louisiana including revisions to lower the maximum rate of income tax, increase income tax deductions for citizens over sixty-five, provide for a government growth limit, modify operation of certain constitutional funds, provide for property tax exemptions retaining the homestead exemption and exemption for religious organizations, provide a permanent teacher salary increase by requiring a surplus payment to teacher retirement debt, and make other modifications?

Do you support an amendment to provide the legislature the authority to determine which felony crimes, when committed by a person under the age of seventeen, may be transferred for criminal prosecution as an adult? (Amends Article V, Section 19) Amendment No. 4
Do you support an amendment to provide for the use of the earliest election date to fill judicial vacancies? (Amends Article V, Section 22(B)) The deadline to request an absentee ballot is March 25 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters). Voters can request an absentee ballot online through the Voter Portal or in writing through the Registrar of Voters Office.
The deadline for a voter to return a voted absentee ballot to their parish’s Registrar of Voters Office is March 28 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters).
Due to unpredictable mail delivery speeds, absentee voters utilizing the United States Postal Service are encouraged to allow additional time for their ballot to reach its destination.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Election Day. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Voters can find their polling location and sample ballot by downloading the GeauxVote Mobile app for smartphones, or by visiting www.GeauxVote.com and logging into the Voter Portal.
Voters must bring an ID with them to vote (Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana Special ID card, a generally recognized picture identification card with name and signature such as a passport, or a digital license via LA Wallet).
