Gardeners and and music lovers will gather at Longfellow-Evangeline on Sat., March 22 to keep the grounds beautiful and enjoy classical music on the viola.
Volunteers will help with spring weeding and planting while Kristy Venstrom of St. Martinville adds melody to nature’s ambiance with French selections from the 19th century and beyond.
Beginner and experienced gardeners alike are invited to learn and share about native and decorative plants.
Participants should bring their preferred hand tools, gloves, kneelers, sun protection and bug spray. Don’t have these items? No worries, the park has some to lend.
Volunteers will meet at the Interpretive Center at 9:30 am.
Participants may bring seeds or plants to swap if they like. Refreshments will be provided.
This outdoor event is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of bad weather.
