New Iberia – Funeral services were held this past Wednesday for 16th Judicial District Attorney M. Bofill “Bo” Duhé, who died Saturday, March 15, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Services for Duhé were held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia. Duhé, 62, was a native of New Iberia.
Duhé served as district attorney for more than 10 years, overseeing St. Martin, Iberia and St. Mary parishes.
He began as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert Martin Fleming then served as an Assistant District Attorney with the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office prosecuting felony crimes.
Duhé became the District Attorney for the
16th Judicial District in 2015.
According to a statement from the 16th Judicial District Court, Duhé’s contributions to the court system and legal profession will be remembered and the memory of his contributions will live on for generations to come.
Duhé was a 1980 graduate of Catholic High School in New Iberia. He graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1984 with a general business degree and received his law degree from Tulane Law School in 1992.
Duhé is survived by his wife, Lisa Trahan Duhé, and his three children, Sean Benoit (Raven), Dawn Michele Duhé, and Malcolm Bofill He also is survived by his mother Dawn Hebert, father John M. Duhé Jr., sisters Kim Holleman (Roy), and Jeanne Sinitiere (Steve), brother Edward Duhé (Nancy), grandsons Rhett and Leo Benoit and in-laws Melvin and Martha Trahan.
