April 11, 1925
The St. Martinville troop of The Boy Scouts of America held a court of Honor. The following Scouts were advanced to the Second Class rank: Earl Bienvenu, Ward Livingston, Charles Foti, N. D. Olivier, Willis Gauthier, Gauthier Reswe- ber and Lloyd Resweber. The following candi- dates were invested with the insignia of Tender- foot Scout: Ludger Bienvenu, J. J. Burdin, Jr., Tom Bienvenu, Wade Fournet, Robert Bulliard, Leonard Champeau and Wade O. Martin, Jr.
According to the last United States Census (1920), the parish population was 21,990. Population of the towns included: St. Martinville - 2,405; Breaux Bridge 1,171 and Arnaudville - 403. Population by wards were First Ward - 5,477; Second Ward 2,218; Third Ward-3,674; Fourth Ward 5,262; and Fifth Ward 5,356.
April 9, 1975
The Dipsy Doodle Club and grocery store just east of Breaux Bridge was reduced to ashes and twisted roofing metal when a fire swept through the large building and spread to a home at the rear of the club. Units from Breaux Bridge, Parks, Henderson and Cecilia fought the blaze, but were severely hampered by a lack of water.
The St. Martinville City council was considering the possibility of extending the city limits to include an area on the south end of town where a new shopping center may have been constructed.
Russell Henson received the Grand Champion Award with his Santa Gertrudis heifer at the Southern University Livestock Show. His brother, Mark Henson, also showing Santa Gertrudis heifers, won the Reserve Grand Champion award.

The St. Martin Parish Council passed a resolution establishing a 19-member “Primary Health Care Task Force” whose job was to search for federal funds by making St. Martin a federally qualified health clinic.
The second set of bids on the proposed new St. Martinville Jr. High School were about $1.1 million less than the first prices, but still fell almost $1 million above the amount available for the project.

The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation, along with St. Landry and St. Martin Parishes hired a consulting firm to develop the first phase of a cultural master plan for the Town of Arnaudville.
Bayou Teche Brewing of Arnaudville was one of a handful of craft breweries whose beers were served at the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
Cecilia emerged as one of the 50 most affordable small towns in the nation according to Business Insider, the largest business news site of the web.
