Breaux Bridge – A 21-year-old Baton Rouge woman was arrested by St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s deputies and charged with attempted murder and criminal damage to property following an early morning 911 call regarding a shooting at a residence in the 1000 block of Roy J. Melancon Road in Breaux Bridge.
In a statement, Sheriff Becket Breaux said that at about 3:30 a.m. on April 8, deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding a female shooting. .U pon arrival, deputies located the suspect, who was identified as Emily Jones, 21, Baton Rouge.
She was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:
• LA. R.S. 14:27/ R.S. LA. 14:30.1-Attempt-Second Degree Murder (3 counts);
• and LA. 14:55-Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property (1 count).
Her bond was set at $200,000.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
