A CONSTRUCTION CRANE working on Interstate 10 at Mile Marker 117 in St. Martin Parish (near Bayou Amy) collapsed around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, crushing the front end of a vehicle and injuring the driver. For unknown reasons the crane’s boom tilted backwards and fell onto the roadway, blocking the westbound lane for several hours. The driver was airlifted to an area hospital with moderate injuries. Louisiana State Police troopers are handling the ongoing investigation.(Henderson Police Dept.)
