St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, April 6, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Lucille Mitchell, 98, who passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at her residence.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Herman, Horace, Irvin Mitchell and Earl Mitchell; daughters, Lillie Hypolite, Marion Menard, Mrs. Jesse (Beverly) Ceaser, Mrs. Calvin (Betty) Cole and Janice LaSalle; brother, Earl Jones; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Mitchell; son, Harrison L. Mitchell; one grandson and one granddaughter; brothers, Robert, Luther, Will, Irvin, Albert and Curl Jones; and sisters, Marie Mitchell, Fannie Benson and Lillie Mae Jones.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
