Mayor Melinda Mitchell and District 1 Councilman Mike Fuselier are inviting District 1 residents to join them at the Magnolia Park Recreation Center at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 for the first in a series of “town hall” meetings scheduled for 2019.
The guest speaker will be Jennifer Stelly, executive director of the St. Martin Parish Economic Development Authority (SMEDA).
The high attendance at city council meetings has motivated Mitchell and the council to organize a series of town hall meetings to give residents an opportunity for a more intimate dialog with officials. Meetings will be scheduled in each of the city’s five districts in the coming months.
The meetings are expected to be held in a different district toward the end of each month. A notice of time, date and place will be published in advance.
