St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Troy James LeBlanc, 52, who passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at his residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continued on Thursday from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary wase prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Rusty P. Richard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Clint LeBlanc and Lexi Romero. Gift Bearers were Courtney Newland and Kason Romero.
Interment will be held at a later date at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Troy honorably served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his sons’ football games, and his daughters’ dance recitals. During his free time, he spent time outdoors fishing and cherished moments spent with his family, especially his grandsons.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Lexi Romero and husband Jade of Delcambre, BreighAnna LeBlanc of St. Martinville, and Rosalie LeBlanc of St. Martinville; sons, JeanPaul LeBlanc and Armon LeBlanc, both of St. Martinville; parents, Charles J. and Cynthia “Dale” LeBlanc of Butte La Rose; sisters, Tammy LeBlanc and husband Clint, and Shannon Westcott and husband Gus, both of Breaux Bridge; brother, Paul Carter of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Kason Romero, Kolton Romero and Kain Romero, all of Delcambre; nieces, Courtney Newland and spouse Taylor of Breaux Bridge, Danielle Broussard and spouse Jake of Parks, Luci Westcott of Breaux Bridge, and Mckenzie Westcott of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas and Amalie LeBlanc; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Daisy Dugas; aunt, Cheria Dugas Guidry; and uncles, Nick LeBlanc Jr., Nelson LeBlanc and Todd Dugas.
Pallbearers were JeanPaul LeBlanc, Armon LeBlanc, Charles LeBlanc, Gus Westcott, Jade Romero and Shawn Calvit.
Honorary pallbearers were Kason Romero, Taylor Newland, Leroy Begnaud and Tony Latiolais.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
