St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted for Mrs. Laris Joseph “Bolo” Babin, the former Valada Hotard, 97, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, with Fr. Ed Duhon officiating. Interment followed at St. Michael’s Mausoleum.
Visitation was held from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday with a Rosary at 9 a.m.
A native of Breaux Bridge and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Babin passed away at 1:42 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
She is survived by her son, Dean Babin and wife Pennie of Broussard; daughters, Charlotte Patin Gianelloni and husband Doug of Lafayette and JoAnne Johnson of Catahoula; grandchildren, Kevin Seaux, Angel Seaux, Mark Johnson, Josette Johnson, Monique Girard, Carl Patin, Patience Patin, Drake Babin and Cassie Babin; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Alvin Hotard of Breaux Bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laris Joseph “Bolo” Babin; parents, Jules and Lucille Daigle Hotard; daughter, Dianne Seaux; and grandchild, Angie Seaux.
Pallbearers were Dean Babin, Drake Babin, Kevin Seaux, Mark Johnson, Doug Girard and Carl Patin.
