Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial wase celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Marie Barras Hebert, 90, who passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at her residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 12 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Joe Campion officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Kylie Bergeron and Amber Blanchard. Gift Bearers were Michelle Guidry and Shelly Leger.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Marie was employed for over 40 years of her life and many of those were at Fontenot and Guidry Dept. Store. Marie enjoyed playing cards, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Jenny Hebert of Breaux Bridge and Wanda Kilchrist and husband Jim of Breaux Bridge; sister, Dorothy Savoy of Parks; grandchildren, Michelle Guidry and companion Jean of Cecilia, Shelley Leger and companion Garret of Lafayette, and Kim Hebert of Breaux Bridge; great-grandchildren, Kylie Bergeron of Breaux Bridge, Amber Blanchard of Breaux Bridge, Nicholas Leger of Lafayette, Chase Leger of Lafayette, Tristan Guidry of Lafayette, Tralyn Guidry of Cecilia and Baylor Leger of Lafayette; great- great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Braelyn Blanchard, Greyson and Gage Bergeron, Ayden and Lilly Leger, Colton St. Amant, and Audrey Ables.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayvon Hebert; son, Wilbert Hebert; parents, Alcide and Pella Daigle Barras; brothers, Herbert and Donald Barras; grandson, Paul Hendrick; granddaughter, Denise Blanchard; and great-grandson, Brock Blanchard.
Pallbearers were Kim Hebert, Nicholas Leger, Chase Leger, Marcus LeBlanc, Tralyn Guidry and Jim Kilchrist.
Honorary pallbearers were Greyson and Gage Bergeron, Ayden and Lilly Leger, Colton St. Amant, Audrey Ables and Baylor Leger.
Our family would like to extend special thanks and prayers to Acadian Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Rachel and Wendy, for the excellent and compassionate care given to our Mother and us in our sad time of need.
