St. Martinville – Funeral services werbe held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Joseph H. Washington Jr., 75, who died September 28, 2019 at Iberia General Hospital.
Services were conducted by Father Michael Sucharski, SVD.
Interment was in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Julian (Kelli) Washington; three daughters, Karlene Collins, Yano (Rodrick) Kelly and Halona (James) Lewis; his sister, Eula Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Joseph H. Washington and Jonas Nelson; his father, Horace Washington Sr.; his mother, Anna Leblanc Washington; and three sisters, Rita Martin, Theresa Washington and Mary Ann Charles.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until time of service. A rosary was recited at 8:30 a.m.
