Some areas of Henderson Lake are now only accessible by airboat. The low water caused by the drawdown to help rid the lake of hydrilla and other invasive plants and the recent drought exposed hundreds of cypress stumps. Wildlife such as egrets and alligators are plentiful this time of the year and visitors have flocked to the boat landings to enjoy a swamp tour, taking advantage of the cooler temperatures and clear weather.
