St. Martinville – Funeral Services were conducted for Mrs. Royal John Johnson Sr., the former Gloria Boutte, 62, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Robin officiating.
Interment followed at Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday. The funeral home reopened at 8 a.m. on Thursday until service time.
A native and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Johnson passed away at 11:03 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Johnson was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone who was blessed to be a part of her life. She loved visiting with her family and friends, listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gloria was a member of Coteau Holmes Full Gospel Church where she found and served Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Leah Johnson, Sue EllenCallier and Steve, and Victoria Vicnaire; two sons, Royal John Johnson Jr and Travis James Johnson and Kimberly, all of St. Martinville; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Boutte and Angel of St. Martinville, and Ronald Boutte of Bayou Portage; and three sisters, Terry Hayes and Shelton of St. Martinville, Brenda Smith and Eli, and Sylvia Smith and Milton, all of Bayou Portage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal John Johnson Sr.; parents, Alcibiade and Esther Bonin Boutte; two brothers, Errol Boutte and Donald Boutte; two sisters, Linda Gail Patin and Monica Hickman; and brother-in-law, John Roy Patin.
Pallbearers were Taylor Johnson, Brandon Caillier, Tyler Johnson, Jared Johnson, Tori Johnson, Justin Callier, Louis Boutte and Ronald Boutte.
