udville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Michael James Touchette, 67, who passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. on Sunday by Fr. Louis Richard. Rev. Brian Taylor officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Logan and Elizabeth Touchette. Gift Bearer wase Diana Touchette. Interment followed at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in udville. Michael had a love for woodworking and enjoyed traveling, riding his motorcycle, fishing and attending all of his grandchildren’s various events. He was a wonderful husband, fantastic father, grandfather, and great uncle. Michael was an absolute wonderful caregiver for his mother and will be remembered for all the love he provided to his mother, family, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. He is survived by his wife, Karen Angela Touchette of Lafayette; two sons, Scotty Touchette (Elizabeth) of Opelousas and Matthew Touchette (Holly) of Carencro; mother, Rita Artigue Touchette of udville; and six grandchildren, Dylan Touchette, Logan Touchette, Ethan Touchette, Alistair Touchette, Hudson Touchette, and Diana Touchette. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Touchette; and his brother, Randy Dale Touchette. Pallbearers were Scotty Touchette, Matthew Touchette, Dylan Touchette, Casey Touchette, Cody Touchette and Mitchell Castille. Honorary pallbearers were Logan Touchette, Ethan Touchette, Alistair Touchette, Hudson Touchette, Jose Jimenez, Ramon Jimenez, Omar Jimenez, Brad Hollier, Chris Hollier, Dr. Glynn Granger, Max Touchette, Edvard Touchette and Dr. Steve Conrad. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for all the doctors and nurses involved in the care of Michael J. Touchette. The kindness and support given to the family will not be forgotten. It reassured them that Michael J. Touchette received the best possible care. Donations may be made in honor of Michael J. Touchette to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Heart Association. Pellerin Funeral Home of udville was in charge of arrangements. (Pd.Adv.)
