Cecilia – A Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home for Dale J. Costley, 60, who passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday. A rosary was prayed at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Rev. Garrett Savoie officiated at the Funeral Service. The reader was Brandy Lally. Mr. Costley was currently employed with the St. Martin Parish School Board for 25 years and worked in the maintenance department. He enjoyed going fishing and crabbing and most outdoor activities. Dale was a practical joker; you never knew when, where, or how he would pull something from his hat, but all he wanted was to get a good laugh for you. Dale was a man who was down-to-earth, loveable, and had a big heart. He would work on things just to see how they operated and consider it a learning tool for the future. He is survived by his son, Gabriel Costley and spouse Taylor of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Laycie Carroll and husband Matthew of Sunset; grandchildren, Seth Costley and Kerstin Schamp; brothers, Larry Patin and wife Joan of Breaux Bridge, Walter Costley and wife Cindy of Arnaudville, Curtis Costley and wife Virginia of Slidell, and Sammy Costley and wife Pamela of Texas; sisters, Marlene Patin Melancon and husband Keith of Breaux Bridge and Bonny Dupuy and husband Sid of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Costley; parents, Wilfred and Winola “Toot” LeBlanc Costley; and brothers, Kenneth J. “Rooster” Patin and Carl J. Patin.
